Never really noticed how spread out my pattern is at 30 yards til today. Mainly because I don't much use buckshot. I have two chokes for my 12g. One came with the gun and I honestly couldn't tell you what kind of choke it is. The other is a xx-full for Turkey. My question is, would the xx full over constrict the load causing pellets to bounce off each other and screw up the pattern even more? Worse yet, what are the odds of bulging the barrel if I try? I have seen a barrel bulge and be permanently damaged from a slug through a choke. Could an over constricting choke do this with Buckshot?
What is the perfect choke for Buckshot.?
Yes. Mod choke is the best I have found. And I have yet to see OO buck pattern worth a crap. #1 buck for all my shotguns. And my old wingmaster will only pattern O buck. That is a fixed IC barrel too.
Mod.

a dime will just fit inside a mod choke, any choke tighter it won't. just DO NOT shoot a slug thru that turkey choke.
the buck shot choke tube that i use is the pure gold buckshot choke. I get good yardage and pattern with it, but they cost alittle bit.
