is it just me being immature and impatient, or does time stand still when your gun is at the smith? can't wait to feel that 1 1/2 pound timney trigger. have found a lot of smiths VERY hesitant to make triggers lighter than 3-4 lbs (all liability BS). paid a smith a while ago to work the trigger on my mdl 7 and it is much lighter, very smooth with no creep/grit or over-travel and thought it was great but now the carpal tunnel and wrist brace and it is just OK at best, measured it at 4 lbs. gunboy has a rem mtn rifle with a noticeably better/lighter/smoother trigger and supposedly totally stock. my mdl 7, new was horrible, felt kike 8 lbs and felt like you needed 2 fingers to work the trigger. may decide to put a 2-2 1/2 pound timney in that one also if I really like this one and ignore higher priority honeydo list things like fixing the leak in the roof, or buying new underwear that are older than most of our members, lol.

1 1/2 lbs id leave it there until its over 2 lbs. unless its just a target rifle that is allways gonna be on the range. Just my opinion.

Hope you get it back soon!

yeah, it's gonna be dedicated mostly benchrest/target, might take it up in the stand at night for better light gathering and longer shots, but still prefer my "lil friend" mdl 7 for hunting. if going into that nasty overgrown now flooded swampy area choked with thorny vines/skeeters/spiders/snakes/bees/gators/otters and heat, thats where they definately are now in the daytime. but can't even get myself back there now, let alone get something out. I'd take the new 35 open sight or open sight shotgun.

As far as I can tell that Remington 700 Mountain Carbine in 7mm-08 I have has a factory trigger and it's as smooth as silk at around 3lbs. I have a Remington 700 CDL in .243 that has a 6lb factory trigger pull and it's also very smooth. Difference being that my two 700's aren't Remington 710's, 770's or 700 ADL low end guns. IMHO the higher the grade of a Remington center fire bolt gun the more time, tuning, quality control, hand polishing, fitting and year of production determines what is done before they leave the factory. My two cents.

yeah, it's definately better than my already smithed mdl 7 at 4 lbs, was probly close to 8 lbs when i bought it. nowadays I'm relying more on learned technique and muscle memory than being able to feel the trigger and depending on the day can be very good to very bad. for sure having limpwristing issues with the semi pistols. hoping the lighter trigger pull will help.
