Here is a pic of the model 1878 colt 45 lc that was my great great grandfathers left to me by HAM this gun was made in 1879 and the story goes that it was a matched pair. My great great grandfather Hugh Douglas Morrison sent one of the guns off with a freind who was headed out west. The friend nor the gun ever returned.

My Dad gave me an '06 just like that only glossy finish. It is so accurate it is scary. Never a scope on it. It weighs about 9lbs. and never goes to the woods. To the range once in a while. very nice guns you have. :clap

one of the things i like the most about the rifle is the quick detach side mount scope. makes it easy to go from the scope to the lyman peep at the range or in the woods. that scope is an old weaver 2.5x. I am sure my great grandfather took deer with this gun, and the only time i took it to ocala i had a big 4 pt run to my stand following a doe, but i was inexperienced and did not get a shot. I feel the gun has karma with it so to speak. It is also very accurate.
