the 300 blackout option sounds interesting and cheaper. i have a 44 mag lever gun that i use when hunting, i am good at the range with it and like the price of ammo.
I got nothing against the guns, just "SOME" of the people carrying them. I saw a guy at the public range with 1, he also had a bowie knife and a bull whip on his hip! guess he didn't know if he was Rambo or Indiana Jones. no fedora hat though.
should i keep the 44 carbine and use it for hog and deer and forget about the 6.8 , or get the 6.8 Thanks
You should keep the ruger 44mag and buy a 6.8 barrel and bolt and 5 round 6.8 mag (and maybe gas block), swap out your 5.56 barrel and bolt....walla...best of both worlds.
It's so easy...You Can Do It!

really???? swap a .223 to 6.8? not even economically feasible. IMO.... Barrel @$300.00 bolt @ $100.00 5 rnd mags anywhere from $18.00 to $46.00 ....
300 is the most bang for the buck... Barrels run about $200 - $250 and 5 rnd .223 mags are about $15.00 ....
don't forget the 7.62x39 ar setup..
the parts needed to have one run good even on the cheap ammo are available.
SOTA complete pin on upper 400 shipped
mags 15-25 each ASC work best
wolff XP hammer spring 5 bucks
cheapest ammo out there for the size.
