Any of the XDms are rock solid. I have had all the full sized ones so far. I am waiting on the XDs .45 next.

thanks guys i am 6'3 and 250 so concealing isnt a problem. my great grandfather carried an 1878 colt 45 and concealed it no problem until the late 1970s. so as long as the gun is comfortable in my hand i will find a way to conceal, after i get my liscense. it is basically between the xdm and the beretta. i guess the xdm would be a lil more affordable, and springfields should be made in usa i hope if not i will check into s&w and colt more carefully.

I bought a Springfield XDM .45 with a 4.5" barrel earlier this year and love it. Great shooting gun. I also have a Glock and IMO it is superior to the Glock. The XDM almost seems like a hybrid between a 1911 and glock. BTW it is made in Croatia. I got the XDM two tone with stainless slide and Trijicon Tritium night sights. It also came with a plastic holster, clip holster, speed loader and two high cap mags.

the XD is a good pistol, but the XDM is alot more comfortable, IMO. Being able to change the back straps on the grip of the XDM for a more custom fit is nice.
