So i am looking to get a 45 auto. I have it down to 3 guns that i want. What do ya'll think of the berretta px4, the springfield xdm, and the numerous offered by colt. are there any out there that wont hurt the pocketbook so bad but may have the same performance? i prefer the berretta. but the xdm is acceptable. the colts are basically just pipe dreams. lemme know what ya'll think. thanks
are you looking for any auto platform? there are many 1911 makers out there that offer compact, subcompact and full size models. sig also makes a nice .45 220 model. it mostly will come down to what fits you best and what you shoot the best.
I have the px4 9mm I like it the rotating barrel is pretty cool. Never had any feed or jamming issues. Changed grip with one they sent and clip didn't want to engage all the way in after owning the px4 though I wish I would have gotten the xd
I have the XDM 40 and I love it. It shoots well, its easy to conceal and is comfortable in your hand. Mine cost about $700 with two boxes of ammo and an Uncle Mikes holster. I shot the Colt M1911 in the service along with the Beretta M9 (loved the gun but the shock factor suffered with the 9mm but then, it's all about placement :>). All are fine weapons but I'm sure folks will have best and worst case scenarios for any gun. Like HouseofMicah said, it's all about preference. Look for something that would suit your needs (financial and usage) and fit comfortably in your hand then make the best decision from there and you'll probably be happy. Good hunting. Let us know what you end up with.
I like em simple, preferably with no safeties, all metal mags, frame and single stack mags to keep grip width and weight down. +1 for colt sig and kahr. I'm sure their are other good ones that will fit the bill.
