So the knoxx stocks ain't as good as they make them out to be? Or are just not suited to slugs? What would be a good stock to get for it? Thanks for the feed back.
if it's the knox I'm thinking of thats a more tactical/home protection type and the drop of comb puts youre face allot lower than the line of sight than the standard mossberg stocks, which imo aint great to begin with. the synthetic plastic ones recoil allot, the wood ones are better but are by no means select walnut. try and find a wood laminate one would be stronger/heavier and absorb recoil better. just do a search for shotgun stocks and see what you like. I use the factory stocks and had a velcro attached strap on cheek piece made up that puts my face at just the right height. the factory one may just fit you fine and just deal with the recoil, for hunting you won't really notice 1 or 2 shots so much. stock fit is much more important when using a scope and rifled barrel and sabot slugs ( going for that 150-200 yard shot ). it's all personnel preference
I notice you also have the pistol gripped full stock, that handle is whats helping absorb allot of the recoil, I use them on my smooth-bores as well as rifled barrels, helps hold the gun steadier also. if you were to shoot the same load thru a plain old synthetic straight stock you'd feel a big difference.
:proud My vote will for sure go to the Remington 870.That is one fine shotgun in my opinion.
