That 870 is sure sweet and tempting, but I already have a hog/deer gun in my Browning A5 Lite 12. I just saw this Mossberg offered elsewhere for $260, and I think I can get it for a bit less. Might come in handy during the coming zombie apocalypse, or perhaps use it for trade on something else I'd want later.

I rigged a pvc tube to my bed frame for a pistol gripped 18" bbl for things that go bump in the night and for that it's perfect. but for huntink youre gonna need a new bbl/stock and forend/sight/scope? too bad that 1187 sold but the 870 is allready tricked out for sabots and long range slug shooting. someday I'd like to do a mdl 12 project, I'm amazed at how good and beefy the steel is they are tanks and well designed. m12 really opened my eyes on them.

love the mossbergs. have a few 500s and an 835. have put 1000s of rounds thru my 500A. and never a hic-cup. i prefer the 500s to 870s just because of being a lefty and i like the amb safety on the 500. Some of the newer Remington products are being built in Mexico and have to kinda watch what model your getting.

they are dependable and rugged , just not great quality, but they do get the job done. like I said I've never been without one ( usualy 2-3) since 1975.
