I just bought a Walther PPK/S .380. My plan is to use it for plinking and possibly as a Concealed/Carry to give my .38 a break now and then. This is the first .380 I have owned and have not shot it yet. How is the .380 as a defense weapon? Any comments on .380's or Walthers?

True story
I have a friend who had a crazy ex fiance. He broke it off with her and she went cookoo. She broke into his house and stole his .380. She stuck it in her stomach and pulled the trigger. She was a lefty, had she been a righty she would have blown her liver out and died pretty quick. It went thru her bowels and lodged in her spine, which left her partially paralyzed. Nothing like being paralyzed and in prison!
That was with Hornady critical defense ammo and thru a jacket also

The PPK/s is my concealed carry of choice. I LOVE that gun. Its reliable / accurate and for what its intended to be used for a good round. If you get the critical defense ammo, its gonna leave damage. As an added bonus, its REAL EASY to clean and service. You can take that thing apart for field servicing /servicing with no tools and FAST.

There is a .32 caliber pp walther in the family, hell of a gun and very accurate.

IMHO for Plinking it would be fine, as long as you don't mind forking out some $$$$$ for ammo. For CC a .25, .32 and a .380 are the last calibers for CC that I would chose or recommend. 9mm is the smallest caliber I would ever recommend for CC.

The PPK is a good weapon, but anything smaller than 9mm doesn't qualify as a "good choice" for CC IMHO.
