Have you seen this?

Do you think it will work? Would you trust it?

Not a bad idea for home defense. Probably won't work with a polymer frame gun though. There are a TON of products to hide a handgun.
I like this better (shotgun)

Me, I just sleep with it. I figure its safer there. Between that, a yappin dog, and a shotgun full of buckshot a bugler is gonna have a bad night if he invites himself inside

Everything changes when you have kids, though. Gotta keep stuff out of their reach first and foremost. My son has been around loaded guns since he was an infant and he won't touch them. I trust him more so than I do most adults around guns.
I occasionally do a test/experiment with a known unloaded gun and he has passed every time
All in the education/upbringing
Sorry if I am babbling and getting off topic

I keep mine in a small safe under the bed that has a hand print on it. I touch it a certain way and it opens. Very easy for me. I do this when I'm in the house with the kids. When I'm up north, without kids I keep my .44 magnum on the night stand. Between the beagle and the lousiana caulluaha outside and the chiwawa guard dog (lol) in bed with me I don't think anyone would make it past the gate before it sounded like there was a bayed hog outside. Then if they did get in tacobell dog would bark then id have to break out the ear protection.
