Glad to see you found your old handle terrible getting old. Great gun but anything above 30-30 overkill except for the fun of it.
there's really not a whole lot of difference between the 30-30 and the 35 except for the larger hole and heavier bullet of the 35. both come in the exact same lever actions and at app the same velocity. as a re-loader I prefer the 35 cuz I can load 357 pistol bullets in them. and with the heavier/larger diam bullet are IMO a better choice for close range, under 50 yds, esp for game tougher than deer, like hog or bear. recoil I can't really tell the difference and only put a recoil pad on the scoped 35 cuz I'll be shooting it from the bench more.the 30-30's a fine round but theres a whole lot of other good ones also, up and down the scale, like 243,7mm08,308,270,280,7mm,30-06 etc. I'd hate to be stuck with only one.
Is that .450 Ported? If not you'll need that recoil pad... Nice guns all!
