ended up buying another 35 cal marlin lever. this one a 1952 336sc (short carbine) with the desired waffle top, (an engraved pattern in the top of the receiver) that tripple creek reaper posted the add on. well it was used hard with rust and pitting and some Bubba had drilled and tapped the top for a scope, basically ruining retail value. got the guy down to 250$ plus a nice sling, sent it to fords gunsmithing in crystal river for a re blue, added a recoil pad,cut the stock for my length of pull and put on a scope so I didn't have to look at the ruined waffle pattern. have had 3 different scopes on it til the current leupold 1x4x20mm with heavy duplex reticle looks and feels just right. hopefully this will be the one. may get to the range today if time/weather permits. no before pics but it was fugly. I will take an after pic and will e-mail it to someone who knows how/and is willing to post it here. below is the Ruger security six I may make my next project, a 400$ finish on a 200$ gun with some kind of Nachogrande logo engraved. thinking of a saguaro cactus wearing a sombrero. the other pistol the sig 220 Gunboy can't have.
Email me the photos and I'll post them for you chief.... Good to see your back as "Nacho Grande"!
