went shooting today with a buddy of mine. He has a DPMS AR-10. .308 . he went and bought ammo and I didn't catch the problem. resulting in a broken extractor. He was sold Hornady Superformance ammo. After the first couple shots, he told me he had a problem with his rifle. I started looking at it . Anyways. i found 3 casings that the primers were popped out of. this was the cause of his jams. Well to find out the pressures created by the superformance ammo and the cyclic rate of the weapon are not a good match. lol . 1/2 a box of shells ended with 6 jams and a broken extractor. He will get it fixed as it is a brand new rifle. 1 box of shells shot through it. But just wanted anyone else that has a rifle like that , to watch what ammo you are shooting.

hogdaddy-- after talking to DPMS, their AR-10 are NOT rated for 7.62 NATO. do NOT fire it in your weapon. bad things can happen. 7.62 NATO is like 5.56 NATO. higher case pressures. The AR-10 is meant for .308 and that is it.
