Have you tried KG Gunkote?
It's similar to Duracoat in appearance and method but I found it to be more even in tone and texture and more durable.
I have done several handguns and long guns with KG Gunkote and they all look good.

kc45 -- Haven't used the Gunkote tey. Cerakote is next. Still playing with the duracoat. have a couple of frames to do in FDE. a Glock and a LCP. I have found if you play with the amount of hardener in the duracoat it will change the texture and the sheen of the coating. Will post some pics, also have a 500 mossberg to do in black and one in digital camo..
