Is this a legal means of carry in the state of Florida?

I've seen it before and thought it was neat. Dunno if it's legal or not. I would think it would be if you have your cwp. Not sure though.

Similar to how I keep mine in my truck. Don't know if its 100% legal but I like living in the gray area!!! Lol

You know, I wanted to get one of those.

To answer your question, no, you cannot have a gun in that. Florida law says (paraphrasing here) basically it has to be concealed when you're in your car.

Now whether that means in a holster, or on your person, I dont know. I'd consult a cop or someone who is very well versed in gun laws to be 100% sure you can carry it like that. But to my understanding you cannot have a gun in the open in your car.

No...but in the case of life or death....beg for forgiveness instead of permission???....I have seen similar mounts that attach to the side of the center console or strap to the bottom half of the seat between the legs. They seem like good ideas and much more comfortable on long trips.

With a strong button strap for retention, it would still be a 3 step process, no different than retrieving from a center console or glove box IMO, just a lot faster.
