I have a 30/06, .50 muzzleloader, and 12 ga. Looking for something to add to my collection that I can use for hunting deer/hogs and shooting at the range. Had a couple of questions.

What is a good caliber to get?
What is a good make/model to get?
How accurate can you expect an AR to be at 100yds.

What is a good make/model to get? Any of the popular brand names, you can't go wrong
How accurate can you expect an AR to be at 100yds.When you find a load your gun likes, you SHOULD expect to touch shots at 100 yards

What is a good caliber to get? 6.8 spc is a good one for deer and hog
What is a good make/model to get? I built my own, so I've never owned a brand name
How accurate can you expect an AR to be at 100yds.I get 1 inch groups at 100 yrds. With the right trigger, setup and loads sub MOA is possible.

.223 / 5.56 will work very well. Shot placement is key.

Ammo costs are cheaper with .223 .

For your first one i would have to suggest STAG, Windham Armory, Bushmaster. All will have a life time warranty, would try to stick to something mil-spec also. But, if you end up not liking to hunt with an AR platform , the resale on a factory gun is gonna be better then a parts gun.

With the right barrel twist matched up with a good ammo, holes touching at 100 yds can be had, with a factory gun.
