Not sure if they still are but, Howa was making Weatherby's actions for some of their rifles.
Which 1500 Howa is it, ranch or varmint ? varmint is the 20" heavy barrel. Howa has a kit to replace the drop floor and install a 10 rnd detachable magazine.
1. I am not sure? I think the barrel is closer to 23 or 24 and the rifle weighs 12.10 so I'm guessing it's the varmint. It's definitely not the current model, the thumbhole is normal sized, not the giant ambi thumbhole they currently use.
2. I will definitely be putting in THAT magazine.
they actually made some guns for Mossberg. My 12gauge is a mossberg model 3000 made by howa in japan for mossberg
Nope. Mine is just a Howa. I'll be calling this week to try and get some info from the serial number or something...
For some reason I can't post a picture...
I have an older Howa 1500 in 30.06 wooden stock, I've had it since the early 90's and I love it. I have taken many deer and hogs with it and never had a problem. It does have the Weatherby action. Look up recalls on them , a few years back I sent the bolt back on a recall they checked it out and sent it back. They paid all shipping and sent me the box. Again one of the best guns I own.
Used to have a Howa 1500 that had the barrel replaced with one chambered for .284 win, Still kicking myself for tradeing that one.
According to Bass Pro...H.ome O.f W.eatherby A.rms. Looked at one there. The guy said they took over weatherbys production.
