finally got some ammo that my H&R will group well. Went to the range today with 3 different ammos. A federal load with Seirra game king bullets 117 gr. Federal fusions at 110 gr. and Hornady BTSP 117 gr . The Hornady grouped the best. 3/4 " to 1 " groups. The sierra bullets were pretty close to that.

Weird, I got the same gun and I can touch shots at 100 with the Barnes TSX.

i know. tried them. have 3 more boxes of the Barnes TSX, and my gun won't shoot them good. i am thinking for some reason, my rifle likes the heavier bullets. gonna try a box of 120 gr, just to see. but i think the Hornady will be a keep.

you guys both have the H&R right? basically a good single shot but have heard some are remarkable tack drivers and others not so much. keep trying different ammo. I loaded some sierra 75 gr hp's that were the bomb (varmints only please), you may want to see how it shoots lighter bullets, if for sharts and giggles only.

Try federal fusion 120gr, bonded boattail bullets. Getting 1" groups consistantly with H&R varmit hunter 25-06.
