I have been remiss in posting so here we go. A few weeks back I went out to the Green Swamp for general gun. 1st time there so I certainly did not have high hopes. I figured there would be alot of walking and planning for the next time out. That was a good assumption. My hunting partner and I found some great areas and saw more hunters than wildlife. Did not see alot of scat either.
I was hoping to get at least some squirrel and could not believe how few I actually saw. I have a better idea though as to what I will do next time. "Finding" those key areas is important. Like anything else, I expect a few trips before it starts coming together. We did find some hog sign and eventually some deer "areas." We also saw some deer and hogs pulled out of there at the checkin-out stations.
After spending the morning walking we took a break before heading out before dusk to some areas we thought looked promising. On the way to one of our spots, I got my only catch of the day. This tough little guy dropped out of the tree lie a sack of potatoes.
Enjoy the pics and maybe next time I will have some better reports!

I was out there last weekend. I managed a few but really thought I'd see more also. Weren't many folks hunting then though.
At least it was good times out in the woods. :toast
it is always a good time to be in the woods!!
Good stuff I learn some thing every time I go out. Thanks for sharing.
