does any0ne know of a better place for small game if so please let me know .
Thanks
What are you looking for as far as small game? Squirrels? Hogs?
There's signs all over now warning horse riders to stay on marked trails only,I guess they were going everywhere they weren't supposed to be. I found a place by me where someone made an ATV track right in the woods, unbelievable.
I may have been a bit harsh on my opinions of Croom, and did not mean to steer you the wrong way about it. It is just the fact the state allows certain activities during hunting season(s) that I completely disagree with, and someone is going to get killed out there(and it wont be hunters fault). We (hunters) fund the place and should be able to use it solely during legal hunting seasons.
Croom is a very beautiful place. It has a good variety of woods. The river swamp gets hit really hard during small game. Ive been there twice this season and have yet to see a squirrel. There a re a few hogs in the river swamp, but the sign has been scarce this year. I know someone is trapping at the Bushnell cemetery, so they are coming out of there somewhere
There are scattered hardwood pockets, but croom is a high, sandpine/jack oak terrain and not the best squirrel place.
If you want to drive an extra 20 minutes, go to Citrus and you would have a better chance at a hog and squirrel
Good luck

Don't know how close this is to you...
I dunno. A little lead "rain" might get the tree-huggin, blubber-lovin, non-meat-eatin, panty waste, butterfly chasin pansies out of the woods a LOT faster. I just yell "Quiet! I'm huntin homos! And you're a homo!" and watch em run for cover.
