thats crazy. Its like that in alot of places. Alot of wmas are selling parcels of land like 1 acre plots and people are building houses.. Shoot the ones at chazz on 19 were selling for 900,000 for 1 acre about 3 years ago.

So if I was to fall out of a tree in a WMA, which was privately owed and leased by the state, I could have a law suit with the property owner and the state since the land isn't owned by the state and covered as Government land? Most states own the WMA's or "State Forests" and have it posted that it is at your own risk since it is government land. Not sure a privately owned parcel, leased to the state falls under the same guidelines since it isn't government "owned" land. I have a folder with all the rules for the specific WMA's I have gone to or want to hunt and it's a joke. If an area has a large population the state should make the call for that part of the state calling it a Shotgun, Rifle or Archery only area in a Hunting regulation and not what Mr. Jones, the guy leasing the state 1000 acres thinks. It sounds like I could lease the state 2500 acres for hunting and tell them I want it Muzzleloader only M-F Nov and Dec??? Is the state that stupid? If the state has leased land from a private individual, how can the individual turn around an sell "lots" when it is government leased? This gets more and more confusing.....

if you need a wma stamp you pay knowing that you are responsible for your own actions and noone is liable if you get hurt. Other places have something set up to protect them im sure.. Even private leases have protection. You pay knowing your on your own if you get hurt (financially speaking)

At least that kinda makes sense. Private leases have Seguro (insurance), I'd bet there is some case law out there about this... Let's just say it's "interesting" to say the least to hunt FL WMA's and definately not "user friendly", especially for the new FL hunter. Doesn't do much for expanding our hunter population...
