the thompson center has a 10" bull barrel. I should have been more clear. but thank you for the input.
Still need to be more clear....
Is it a pistol or rifle? If it's a pistol with a 10" bull barrel you're fine....cause it's not a centerfire RIFLE.
if it's a rifle with a 10" bull barrel you're SOL if that WMA doesn't allow centerfire rifles.
it is all pistol. hand grip. it is classified through everything I ever read about this gun that it is a pistol.but as nacho said, sometimes it is very confusing so I thought I would ask the question.
I don't have my regs handy, but a 10" bbl is a pistol. bbl lengths over app 14-16" (not exactly sure) would be considered a rifle, as far as I know.
FWC officer at Green Swamp last year told me that it doesn't have anything to do with barrel length, but instead depends on the grip/stock. If held in the hand with a pistol grip = handgun and therefore not a rifle. If shouldered = rifle.
I think this is the perfect example of, how's it go? "erring on the side of caution" or something like that? I have a lot of respect for the FWC officers and LEO too, but more than once I've asked questions to different individuals and received different answers when it comes to laws. Therefore, I personally would stick to a rimfire or shotgun - but I do agree a T/C w/10" barrel is a pistol unless fitted with a shoulder stock.
