only thing I've had people agree on is that they carry disease, so not too appetizing right there, but guess I've eaten worse. and that they have a musk sack inside somewhere that if you puncture it ,it makes it in-edible, that true? no dillers where I'm from.

Ive heard them called "poor mans pork". Meat is a nice white meat, but greasy. I know daddy made us eat them a time or 2 back when I was a kid. If I was hungry I would eat them, but I got too much venison, pork, and beef in the freezer to resort to that just yet

I also heard them called Hoover Hogs. I ate one, not bad.

One of the guys who did our hunter's ed class years ago told us that if he and a diller met up in the woods the foot chase was on and he never passed up on eating one. There again, there wasn't much that guy didn't admit to eating.
