up at homosassa wma today the dillers were all over the place once the sun came out. there is usualy no shortage of them there but today was crazy, they were coming out of the woodwork, must have seen at least 30 of them in 20 minutes just in one place. so if you have any use for them or eat them thats a good place for you. also the gate keeper and some snake handler said they do not have teeth, or kill snakes and don't realy have much affect on snake control at all. same old story get 2 hunters fisherman together and you hear 2 different ways to do things. so kill on site as a nusiance, leave em be, or eat em? so far I've just let em be, but could have taken a trunk/hitch/haul carrier full. nobody's gotten a hog since they re opened on 12/26. I saw a whitetail before I even had my gun loaded. went to a new spot this am and no hogs heard or fresh sign, then later checked my usual am site and fresh sign all over, go figure.I thought they'd be huddled up and not moving in that cold this am.

They feed on grubs, worms, insects, etc. They have teeth, but nothing major. They will even eat fruit. I have seen them eat persimmons.

Right now the game is moving at night and mid day. Typical pattern for an almost new moon. Sorry, many don't agree with me, but there is more night feeding on a new moon than a full. All my corn was devoured between the hours of 11-3 today while I was gone from my stand. Also last night there were a lot of tracks. I might pull an all-dayer tomorrow

I checked a few feeders for hog sign this weekend and was surprised at the amount of deer tracks on them. They were eating all the corn after the feeder went off at daylight. We found 3 like that, deer are getting hungry now.
