A widow friend of our family was over visiting yesterday at camp. She said "when you get time, walk over and see if you can use any of this fishing tackle"
I said "I got time"....
She drug out several boxes and said "take what you want, or all of it if you want it"...
Haven't had time to go thru it all being we just got home, but so far I have counted 47 unopened mirr-o-lures. Not counting the stretch 25's, buckets of soft plastics, jig heads, and the hundreds upon thousands of hooks. And probably 10 miles worth of mono....
I gotta write up a thank you card, as it is appreciated. It means a lot as I used to fish with the old man and my dad quite a bit
Score... I am sure her husband would want it to go to someone who could/would use it.
He was a snow bird and fished just about every day of the winter. From the time he got down here from Canada in November(s), he had the boat in the water within a few days. His thing was trolling mirr-o-lures up and down the river....and caught a pile of fish. Hence the reason there are so many of them. He used to come to Tampa and he and dad would go in Southeast liquidators, and come out with sacks of fishing tackle
Funny thing, I planned on bringing all of dads old tackle boxes and mine home and reorganizing, before she offered this stuff up. I picked up my tackle bag and couldn't unzip any of the zippers. Now I just gotta reorganize on a larger scale
Oh man. Thats awesome!
