If you want to be cheap a Lee Load-All 2(39.99 – $42.99 ) is the way to go, it's what i have. If you have some money to spend a mec 600 jr( $150.99) is a great reloader, both are single stage which is really what a beginner must learn on. But my best advice will be to get the Lyman book. Good luck.

i got a lyman tourette press.

MEC 600 JR is the way to go. Will last a life time and worth the little bit of extra money. That was my first shotgun reloader. Now I have the MEC 9000 and can load hundreds a day if needed. The Lyman book is the best choice also....

for pistol reloading youre talking about loading alot more rounds than for rifle and a turret press is alot faster with a loaded round with each pull of the lever, if set up corectly but they are more expensive, more difficult to set up, and alot easier to make a mistake, youve got like 4-5 functions going on at once and it's easy to miss something. imo for simplicity, strength and ultimate accuracy a single stage rcbs rockchucker is hard to beat

+2 Nacho, I load mostly 44 mag, i mold my own bulletts , i do about 100 rounds of 44 mag and about 20 rounds of 308 , per week.... needless to say i shoot a lot, every wednesday and sunday, and teach a NRA pistol safty(CWP) class where i shoot a 9mm a couple of times a month, thats a lot of reloading and i use a rock chucker jr. for the past 3 years.. yes it takes a little time but , you need to be aware of what you are doing, i used a lee single loader for 38 cal about 25 years ago and messed up by not putting powder in a case and when i fired , the bullett got stuck in the barrel of a wheel gun, i just thank god it wasn't a semi auto... so be safe on what ever you are doing...

is there a reloading rig that will do both shotshell and pistol and rifle, or do I need seperate machines for each or seperate machine for shotshell, and another for rifle/pistol?

At the moment I would be reloading 9mm luger, 45 acp, .30 carbine, 30-06 springfield, and 12 guage 2 3/4" shotshell

I really want to start with the .30 carbine and 30-06 as the rounds i need are for hunting and the 30-06 is special M1 Garand M2 load, and these are hard to come by at the local gun store, if not impossible.
