Folks,

I want to get into reloading ammo. I have (some 20 years ago) reloaded some 9mm with a friends equipment. He showed me how, and I did some of the work that was long ago.

I want to buy a system that will allow me to reload 9mm, 45acp, .30 carbine, M1 garand ( i think it is 30-06?) and if possible 12ga shotshell. If I need a different setup for 12 ga shot shell, then thats ok, just tell me what to get.

Price is kind of a factor, and not planning on reloading tons of ammo, just enough to keep me going on weekends and hunting season. So the multi-step prgressive presses are not needed. I just need all the stuff to reload a variety of ammo.

Thanks
G

you need a tourette press. Not a single stage.. wiht a tourette press you can have all your dies set in and press 2 different sizes at a time. I got a whole set up at my house.. when you come get the shirts and stickers ill show you..

First step is to get a good book on reloading.. i got the best one on the market.. ill show you that also..

first you should get a reloading hand book , Crock is correct about a turret press,, then but that is quite expensive, and to get one that won't break easy, now a single stage like a RCBS rock chucker jr. is relativly inexpensive to get started, and if you decide you don't want to reaload then you are not out too much,, e-bay has a lot of these used and in good shape just be sure that what you get says they will take it back if you get it and there is rust... I have been very lucky everything i have gotten has been as described, and for a great price...Next you will need to find a place for primers and powder , there are a few good places , harbor fright has a good vibrating brass cleaner, only $39.00 mine has lasted 3 years so far. then after a while you can start molding your own bulletts again e-bay has good prices on used molds....if you need help knowing if the deal is good or not send me a pm and i will be glad to help in any way i can...

I reload shotshells, 12ga for now, i could help you in that regard. If you don't shoot a lot i wouldn't recommend it and you will save more buying it at the store. For shotshells the Lyman Shotshell Reloading Handbook 5th Edition is a must have. Buy the book first before you buy anything else, then read it once or twice and you will have all your answers towards what equipment to buy, safety precautions, etc. In order to save on reloading shells you need to buy in bulk, that means making a big purchase.

If you want to be cheap a Lee Load-All 2(39.99 – $42.99 ) is the way to go, it's what i have. If you have some money to spend a mec 600 jr( $150.99) is a great reloader, both are single stage which is really what a beginner must learn on. But my best advice will be to get the Lyman book. Good luck.
