The lease I am looking into is a small one only 120 acres for 500 a year! I have found many leases through Craigs List ads!

Thats actually a decent price, how many people on that land now? I wouldnt like if it were a lot of people.
is it nearby? or way out in the boonies?

under what heading do you find the leases? Sporting I would assume?

thanks
G

sporting goods in craigslist has some leases listed. but, seasons have started everywhere. would not suggest getting into one in the middle of season.

I think it's time for a change in my hunting. It's pretty bad when you pay 1300.00 for a lease and you don't see nothing but does week after week. My buddy has killed 3 bucks and a doe and several hogs on WMA's and after seeing all the pics on here. I swear I could kill a doe everytime I hit the woods in my lease, place needs thinned out bad but our President is dead against doe killing, even during bow season. It's really embaressing when public land is so much better than private.

get EVERYONE together and go to the lease holder and say HEY we need to kill does.. if not were all out. trust me hell have doe tags quick..

Then the next wave of people will fill it. Wont work with this guy

to expensive for my blood. How can you guys afford these? I mean dam some leases are as high as $2000 bucks, and well thats 2 mortgage payments for me. do you save up for them? what happens when you renew is there a lower renewal fee? Where can you find them listed?
thanks
G

Actually in S Fl and on the East Fl area, $2k is very cheap. a standard lease is usually around $6k per member per year in those parts. I lease in N Fl and pay $12.25/acre. There are 10 of us and it comes to $1000 per person a year. I try to save a bit throughout the year and I write my lease expense off thru my business

glowworm, if you check in the local gunshops and archery shops. they usually will have a board to post ads on. usually there are several clubs with openings with ads up. arrowhead archery usually hasd a few different ads up on the board.

Thanks for the info, wasnt going to get a lease this year, but would be interested in planning one for next year. So I can save up for it.

Now for the $$$ Million $$$ dollar question...

...Are they worth it over WMA's?

Thanks
G
