That buck doesn't look rutted up at all. You think the rut is still to come up there? A guy that has a lease down the road from us says it's usually going good around the 2nd week of Dec. but the other guys say it's usually 2 weeks ago.
Isnt there multiple small ruts through November and December? I mean deer in Tallanasty wont be in the rut the exact same time as deer around Miami.
I'm gonna call this year a "trikle rut" I have seen rutting activity since labor day. Not really defined and hard like it was last year. Very weird year this year
It is closed for 2 weeks now so I will never really know if it happens during that time. The young bucks have been chasing good but we just arent seeing the same things as last year

Way to go Allen,that's a fine buck.My buddy was getting frustrated hunting his feeders and food plots because of hogs so he went back to his roots he said. He started hunting buck sign with no bait. He killed a 7 and an 8 pt during BP season. Sometimes that's all the change you need.
