Well I am lucky enough to have a spot to go out to and sit close to my house, so last night I slip out and grab the crossbow and take the trees. I get there and wind was perfect and about 710 a doe comes out and it won't turn broad at all . I let one go and it turns snorts and goes ..........gone. Sit for a while and dark comes and off to find the arrow . Nothing on it clean as it gets. So this am comes and was doing some work in the garage and father in law comes and tells me at 1130 the buck was chasing 4'does around my spot while he was mowing near by. Some c rut must be starting at least in Hernando. So me and my daughter go for a ride in my fathers inlaws golf carts just to see 2 yearlings with a little white in the back part woods of the pasture.will have to see what tonight brings
Be safe
Don't feel bad. I've missed 2 easy shots this season that should be meat in the cooler. FInally shot my crossbow yesterday and I was off by 12" low and 6" left.
Al, you are beginning to sound like the guy in your avatar. LOL!
Wow! I said that I wasn't going to say anything about this but I just have to go there not that it has been brought up. Had a public hunt last weekend and long story short one of the hunts I was 20' up and had not cocked my crossbow yet and it fell out of the stand... I said several choice words. I hunted the rest of the day and mid day the following day shot it. Surprisingly enough it was still on the money. 20' up and scope still on the money. Today heart shot a 5 point at 30 yards.
:saluting
I missed one last weekend with compound. Don't feel bad (even though I still feel bad about my miss....lol).
