Took a while to score on one after having a ruff archery season . This guy was trying to slip pass me right at daybreak . He was on his way back to bed down in some palmettos but didn't count on me to screw up his day . Stopped him at 87 yards . As soon as he stopped I counted 3 on one side . I put the crosshairs on his neck as he was 1/4 to me and dirtnap . 7mm strikes again this season . I say again cause 2 weeks ago I whacked a hog .

After shooting the buck I had several does pass by . I was about to get down and glassed the area one last time . I see 2 coyotes coming down wind about 250 yards away . They were coming straight to my buck . But they didn't know I was waiting for them to get closer . They were weaving in and around palmetto clumps and at 100 yards from buck I was ready to shoot . All the sudden one turns and hauls butt . I guess they caught my wind . I didn't have a shot on 1st one but I managed to stop second and bullet was on it's way . I waited about an hour to get down . I went for the buck 1st . I was extremely happy and moved him out of the sun . Then went to check out the coyote . His head was inside palmettos , I grabbed him by his back leg and went to pull him out , I saw his head move up and I quickly moved my hand back . I had spined him and he was still alive . He only had movement on his head , so I put another shot in him and goodnight . Big male
