does scent away go bad? I have a bottle from last season is it still good? should I get a new bottle?
i dont think so, ive been using the same bottle for a few years now. Came with a big refill
So this weekend i got the chance to use the primos "fresh earth scented" spray. It's double the price of the scent-a-way but wally world sold out of every scent-a-way bottle so I had no choice. I had a total of 8 deer (2 in the morning, 6 in the evening) walk within 5 yds of my 16 ft ladderstand downwind of me and never busted me and I was sweating heavily yesterday afternoon. I like the "earth scent" as I figured even if it doesn't minimize my human scent it will cover it better. My truck cab smells like the forest floor now lol
We had an east wind all weekend which is horrible for my stands. Saturday AM I got busted by a deer coming to the feeder. I assume it was a slick head, as it stood there and blew for 15 minutes. Sat eve I made a point to spray down real good when I left the truck, and when I got in my stand. I had the hogs directly in my wind path and they never once spooked. Even had my thermacell smoke blowing right at the feeder.
Sunday AM I did the same thing, sprayed down at the truck, then once again when I got in the stand and cooled off. I had both deer Sunday down wind of me an hour apart and they never spooked. Wind was hitting me in the back of the head and thermacell smoking like a cigarette, blowing right to where the deer were. Only my broadhead smacking it thru the lungs made it run off
I used the Primos Silver at the truck, and the Scent -a- way in my stand. Washed clothes in Scent -a- way detergent and showered in their body wash. The stuff flat out works
Had the same problem this morning with the easterly winds, got busted twice.I'll try again tonight and I'll try spraying down heavier.Friggin wind is blowing right into the woods.
