Pumped to get in the stand today and saw a doe and yearling at 8:30 and that's it. When I was leaving for lunch at 11:30 I decided to check out another spot to look for any fresh sign. As I looked up, about 150 yds. ahead is a nice mature buck standing broadside looking directly at me in the truck. After a 3 min. staring contest he turns and walks off around a corner. This us where it gets fun.

I decide to try to stalk him down and get out of the truck after he turns the corner. Take off the boots and put on the BOAT SHOES, grab the bow and away I go. I stalked him for a few hundred yards and got to within 100 yds. before I lost him. Still not sure where he turned into the woods at. That my friends was exciting as hell. Nothing to speak of for the pm hunt. Hoping tomorrow brings a better hunt.

i feel your pain, Dony1. was up at the lease over the weekend. saw deer every morning, but not in bow range. set my climber up for an ambush on sunday morning. the does come thru just like they have been and used a different trail putting them about 40 yds off instead of 25 yds. well i missed a shot at 42 yds. :taz :taz oh well. go back in a couple of weeks and see if i can't get redemption.

Well Sunday turned out to be more of the same. Had a doe coming in at 8am and when it went behind a bush I stood up to get my bow and didn't realize there was another one and I got busted. A few minutes later I get a bear coming in but he turned off at 75 yds. I did see a bunch of turkeys a couple times but they were quite a ways away. Oh well. I've got a client flying in to meet Saturday but gonna try to hit the cypress Sunday. I need to get off the snide and help Allen out.
