IMO "no" doe harvest is just ignorant. ( no offense to anyone but my opinion) When Ohio first started doe harvesting, everyone cried your going to kill off the herd. Since then there are more deer than ever and more bucks. I am all for antler restrictions to take pressure off of spikes and small bucks but you have to control the doe herd. PERIOD !!!!!

I agree 100% about the doe killing,but not AR's. Most states have a 1 buck limit,some maybe 2. If you can only kill 1 or 2 bucks it don't matter what they have on their head. A male deer is a male deer.Even the lowly spike carries the dna to reproduce monsters. Also how do you know when you kill that doe she's not the one producing that P/Y buck. It could also be in her DNA.
just about every study done and all biologists agree on one thing, a controlled doe harvest and correct buck to doe ratio increases overall herd health,population and #'s of bucks. as for antler size, they gotta be allowed to live long enough to grow them. jmo but if your just looking to fill the freezer or have your kid put something on the ground, kill a doe. most likely will taste better and helps teach restraint,discipline and patience. not looking down at anyone who is a if it's brown it's down shooter as I went thru a period of years where it seems all I got were spikes and forks and felt more embarrassed, and got more grief bringing them to the butcher than if I brought a doe in. dam butcher would always hang my spike next to a big racked one.
On my old lease...It had not been hunted for 2 years. It was OVERRUN with does the first season. We made a deal to not shoot anything under a 6pt for any reason. Between archery, doe week, and doe tags we committed a massacre the first season. We killed zero bucks that year. The second season, we put three bucks in the state registry

Those guys are killing everything that walks. The old guys on there are shooting the smaller bucks they were trying to save for the kids.I would call them more aquaintances than buddys.lol
