That guy Harold you mets FIL leased it with some other guys who go up there and stay for extended periods.Sitting in the kids stands when they're not there killing spikes and whatever walks out. At least that's what I heard.
Let me go back and clarify my stance. I'm not against small, still hunt clubs shooting does especially while practicing some sort of management. We shot a fair amount in Madison and Jefferson Counties during bow season for many years but we also had QDM rules. We even let some employee's kids pile a few up off two of our parcels during the private land doe weekend.
It's the large, hard to regulate dog leases that the doe tags are abused on. The board members will tell you they fully expect to give out 'X' amount of tags and have at least 2x 'X' amount harvested. That's BS
i couldn't agree more. I hate the attitude some hunters get about killing, killing, killing. The kill is the ending but the pleasure is in the hunt. Back when I was hunting in Ohio in my younger days you could only kill one deer. I would be all excited for deer season to open then first thing in morning kill one and then you where done. Whole years anticipation for 5 minutes of hunt. It used to suck, now I let most things go till I am ready.
