I agree with you, but that is about right for Levy Co. Got a buddy in a lease there, and the rut is long gone there

Anytime a buck has hard horns he is ready and willing to breed. In Florida on most properties you end up with a trickle rut which has does beeing bred any month in the fall. A good tactic to use is to go back to the travel routes you found during bow season and any scrapes you may have found then. Alot of times bucks will go and reopen these after the peak of the rut. You never know when a buck might be in the right mood to investigate calling or scents but you are guaranteed not to kill one at home.

My friend saw three decent bucks this morning and killed an 8pt in a THICK area where the bucks don't mind feeding during daylight. All of his shots are less than 30 yds. He said they were up and moving this morning with the cold front moving in
