Hey at least in TX we have deer with racks and not stubs...LOL Each to their own on the mullet, glad you enjoy them.

I find it funny that people bash mullet as an eating fish, but eat redfish like it is their last meal. Personally they have the same taste to me, and actually I like mullet better

Hey in Texas we use mullet for bait as it was intended...Came here and FWB has a mullet festival every year and EAT the damn things! You could find better trash to eat is all I am sayin , I understand if you are poor and that is all you got, but comeon, there is much better! LOL..Came here in 2000 and still have never eaten the trash fish of the FL coast.
They have a mullet festival in wakulla county also, complete with a mullet tossing event too. Gill netting mullet was big business along the panhandle before the inshore gill net ban. The pine tree festival in perry was home of the world's largest fish fry and mullet was what they served. I had a buddy in college from texas who laughed everytime I told him that I was going spearfishing and snatch hooking mullet, he too thought they were trash fish.
we have a couple mullet festivals in manatee county. one is at the cortez fishing village and the other in terra ceia/rubonia. i love some smoked mullet dip.
