I got a permit to hunt Avon Park. Now they allow dog hunting in the north part and still hunting in the south part. Any tips on how to hunt when there is dog hunting around. Like hunt as far from the dog hunters as possible. Neither one is allowed to hunt in the others area. I am not trying to start a fight. I respect both sides. If I got a deer that was being chased by dogs I definitely split the meat.I just want to have a good time with my boys.

Better man than me...if dogs are chasin a deer I shoot in a still hunt area....tough #$#@!

First opportunity I have to report the offender, it's done.

Obey the rules.

(and yea I know, dogs don't read)

But their owners do.

No matter where you are chances are the dogs will get things up and moving. Most of the time the animals you see will NOT be running in front of the dogs. I've seen more deer in dog hunt areas that were just slipping or headed back to where they got bumped.
Yes, you are a better man than some. Splitting the meat is an honorable thing to do, but not required by law. Some folks haven't had the opportunity to try and catch a dog that is hot on the track and coming to the road. It ain't easy - especially if this is the dog's 1st or 2nd run of the season. They love it just as much as the owner.
Good Luck!

I glad there are some people who have been taught good sportsmanship.
