I think I hunted harder this weekend than any time in the years past. Saturday and Sunday both, sat from before daylight till well after 11, then back in the stand by 1pm till after dark. Nothing to show for it. This is one year I simply can't figure the rut out. I can usually pin it down to a couple day period. Saw a monster mature buck running a very small yearling doe (same one my buddy missed) that no way should be in estrous yet. I doubt she would be 50#. Then saw a very mature doe that still had a yearlin with her. I found a scrape line this morning that was gone cold, so that tells me it has or is going by now...
My partner managed to kill a 50# little solid red boar yesterday. I managed to get piss on me and I can't get the smell off. Rankest hog I have smelled in a long time
