My buddy has shot a hog and an 8pt so far this morning. Just heard him shoot a third time. I may as well quit

I skimmed a 4pt saturday morning and found very little blood, just a few drops actually. I knew he wasn't hit good or at all when he hesitated to run off. 150 yards and I rushed my shot and was aiming low with the wrong dang circle. 3 of my buddies killed bucks, one of them killing 2 that morning. I let two small 3 pts walk that afternoon. I saw around 5-6 that morning and quit counting deer at 12 that afternoon.

I couldn't convince my daughter to sit in a box stand with me so we rode around yesterday afternoon. I picked up my buddy on the way as he was tired of sitting up. We saw a dozen or so, and let a buck get by us around 6:30. Around 7:05 we slipped up on a clear cut in progress and a tall buck was standing 200 yards out and I couldn't find a third point on him as he was facing me. I backed off and my buddy had made it around the truck and saw he was a 4pt and missed him. I got a running 200yd shot with a slow bullet, so I missed too as normal lol

Only had 8 guys show up for the opener of Gun season at our camp. Had the whole 3000 acres to ourselves. Two bucks were taken, a tall 5 pt and a nice wide 8pt, unfortunately not by me. My family had a great time, we cooked up a great batch of venison chili recipe Friday night and the weather was perfect, all in all a great hunting trip.
