Get out and do your civic duty!!!!
:flageagle :united :saluting :salute3d
Man, the place was empty at my polling location. Took longer for the 126 year old poll worker-lady to find my name on her list than it did for me to get in and out of the "booth".
16% turnout in Hillsborough county. I simply do not understand why folks don't get out and vote. It's pretty much the only say we have as citizens. They make it so easy to do nowadays also. You got early voting if you know you are going to be out of town. And absentee voting if you don't want to go in person.
I personally enjoy going to the voting booth on voting day. I get a sense of fulfillment doing it.

*** *** And you have the nerve to brag about it. As a citizen of the greatest country to ever exist on the planet the one guaranteed right given, is the RIGHT TO VOTE! You and the millions of others who do the same thing should be ashamed of their lack of civic responsibility. I'm willing to bet you complain about the outcome too. For Shannon.

* ** I'm complaining about the outcome before it's ever decided, which is why I'm not voting. (BTW, that whole 1st Amendment thing isn't only for those who vote; it's for everyone.) As long as we have an Electoral College system, we will never have an opportunity at a truly democratic (process, not the party) choice of government. We will always be forced to choose between the lesser of two evils, or vote based on our fears, rather than our dreams. We will always be locked in a political stalemate between two parties with the same interest-seizing and retaining power. I don't vote because I don't want to lend legitimacy to that system. I don't vote because neither Republican nor Democrat should control the nation. I withhold my vote out of protest because I see no candidate worthy of my vote. I withhold my vote out of civic responsibility. My vote is to not vote. And, yeah you could say I am proud of it.
