Thanks everyone for the welcomes and info. I'd really like to be able to get into Ocala because its closest to me and I've seen quite a few deer out there. Another quick question, will it be legal for me to hunt muzeloader with my Mossberg 500 with the conversion barrel?

Yes, it should be. As I said, make sure you read the regs applicable to the managment area you obtain the quota permit for. Some people are confused by the regs posted on the FWC website which are only applicable to private land (leases, farms, and what not.)
The application worksheet gets posted in June, and it goes by management area and dates. Most management areas have two, many have three hunts for Archery, two (or three) hunts for Muzzleloader and same for general gun. Your quota hunt is specific to one of those hunts. Example, the Ocala brochure for 2010 - 2011 says Muzzleloader is open from Oct 29 thru 31 and that you will need a quota permit to hunt during those days. If you click on the link I send you on my previous post, under "Quota - Muzzleloading Gun", you click there and scroll down to "Northeast Region". Ocala Church Lake Unit is hunt # 2124. You would enter that as your first choice on top of the form. Then you do the same with the other choices. Do your homework, look at the brochures for Management areas near you and pick the hunt number, then enter them in sequential order of choice. The regs you need to become familiar with are here: http://myfwc.com/media/185828/10-11_Ocala.pdf
Good luck.
