id be glad to show you how to skin and quarter and so on.. alot of people hunt chazz, and homosassa which are close to you.. so you will have no problem finding someone to hunt with! ill keep you in mind the next time i decide to head up that way to hunt.

OK--gonna go out this Saturday and possibly Sunday to give this weekend to see what I can get into....Will head out to Chazz and/or Homosassa

Areas pretty easy to get around--or should I prepare to get lost 😉

thanks everyone for the info--maybe I will see some of you out there

i'm always prepared to get lost. have only had to spend the nite out once but it was in nov in N.H. on the side of a mtn just at tree line and snowing. luckily I had a coed along to stay warm. freshman year coll 1975. I always carry a compass, whistle and way to start a fire even in the rain. homosassa is only 5,000 acres compared to 40,000 at chazz. either way get a map at the check in station ,and bring your cell phone.and let someone know where you plan to be and when youre expected to be back. pm me if you want. I've been at homosassa the last 2 eves.

OK--got a Mossburg 835 and headed out to Chass and/or another tomorrow in the morning...if anyone is out that way and interested in a tag along...feel free to contact me. Should be a nice cold morning to be out walking the grounds...

What a great day today--thanks Nacho for getting me out and showing me Hills WMA...it was lots of fun even as quiet as it was...after spending some time there, I took a drive to Chass and walked some of the trails there for awhile...brought a question to mind. During my walk, I came across a tree stand that someone had set up and was not using. What are the "rules" on tree stands and can they be used by others that come across them or is this not done among the Hunters?

Thanks---and thanks Nacho again for showing me some great spots very early this morning...

Steve
