2 piers at Ft Desoto
The Dunedin Causeway and Honeymoon Island are great spots in North Pinellas. If you live in South Pinellas Coffee Pot or Snell Island are great places to fish too. The canoe trail in Fort DeSoto also holds tons of fish this time of year. Growing up in St. Pete I have fished all over and these are some of my favorite places. Having said that any, seawall or dock is good if you just want to catch fish.
My daughter has been fishing with me since she has been 3 and now at age 7 she can do everything except clean the fish. Just remember take a kid fishing and one day they will take you. Good luck.
Forgot about this thread...
Well, I took my family to the skyway again on Thursday afternoon. I knew better but I wanted to fish.
As expected, the kids (6 and 2) argued, ran around, killed the bait, whined about everything, and I had to make sure they didn't get run over by the drag racers... :gangsta I got skunked and my wife caught an 18" mackeral and a 14.5" mango.
All in all I'd say it was a pretty good day!!! :pinch
I remember my dad taking me to the Dunedin causeway when I was a kid. I'm going to put that on my list of places to visit. I'm going to make it over to the Fort as well.
