if they close it for a while longer that may not be too bad, i just hope when they re-open it they dont make the slot any smaller. how is it that redfish have been 18 to 27 for what seems like forever, and in 10 or 12 years snook have gone from 2 a day and a generous 12 inch slot down to one a day and a 5 inch slot. seriously? sometimes i really hate the decisions the fwc makes.

It probably would be good if they kept the season closed till Feb. 2011. But I think Houseofmicah is dead on about the slot size there will most likely be some sort of modification to the current slot or season altogether. Just look at what they did to grouper and red snapper fishing with the help of the marine fisheries department. Snook will be next.

+1,they make it really suck to fish in Fl. Remember the good ol' days when you could actually go fishing and have a fish fry afterwards?
i think the catch and release guides push this alot. like it should be my problem they choose to take people fishing for a living.
Exactly, the ones who profit from our wildlife are the ones who push the tough laws. Same as the guys who were guiding with quota permits.
