havent seen any good sizes on the flats when i have been out lately. went out a few times in the last month or so and have only seen a couple nice ones, most of them way too small and not worth the trip.

I have heard reports of good sized shrimp at Doctors Inlet. Are they safe to eat with the algae bloom?

Hey all I ran a shrimp boat in Tampa Bay and sold them out of Corey Ave B&T for 11 yrs before changing to Grouper Snapper Bandit boat in the Gulf for the last 26 yrs. The shrimp in the bay all go out to spawn the first week of June and there are no more shrimp until just before the 4th of July Pe Wees from the eggs that washed back in and hatched in the mangroes. The big shrimp never reenter the bay once they leave. This cycle varies from North Fl to the Everglades but happens every year. Just thought I would let you know from my experience as most people don't know why we go through no shrimp at certain times!!
