Bring it on,bring on the mullet, swmp cabbage, and cheese grits. I caught a few mullet last winter and fried them for breakfast. I used to eat a lot of roe whan I was younger but for some reason I just didn't care for it when I fried it up last year.

You got me thinking about the last time I actually had mullet roe, and can't remember when it was! Probably been 25 years or more, so it may not be as good as I remember. The last time I clearly remember eating it was a trip down to Naples/10000 Islands when I was about 19. We had it for breakfast with eggs and sausage and potatoes before heading out for a day of catching snook and sharks.

Been probably 30 years since I had swamp cabbage. We were down at my Granny's place on Lake Kissimmee and had swamp cabbage with fried specks (crappie), grits and hushpuppies. Damn that was good stuff!

When I was in Steinhatchee last week I got a cooler full of red roe mullet. Called a buddy one afternooon and he showed up at the house the next morning with a 48 qt cooler full. everyone had a bulging belly full of roe. I took them to the hunt camp to fry, but everyone went home Saturday so I brought them back with me. I am gonna fry some of them up Saturday
