Just curious as to whats biting in the winter months around melbourne? When's the best time for pompano?

been searching the web with no luck. Is it true that you can not surf fish at night in the melbourne area due to turtles?

Only during certain times. I used to surf fish around Sebastian at all times of the year night and day w/no problems or hassles except from tourists. Normally, winter months bring Whiting and some blues. If you hit it right, Sebastian Inlet can be a blast with the fall mullet run and the blues, spanish, and just about every other species of predator.
