Finally found all of the parts to work on the boat trailer this weekend. The good part is I will be trailering it down to Pine Island tomorrow for a 4 day fishing weekend. We will be hitting Matlacha pass, Pine Island Sound, Upper Captiva Pass and for those of you that know the area, the trout grounds at the north end of Bokeelia. Ah, Bookelia the drinking village with a fishing problem. The only place I know where the fish fear me and the bartenders love me!!
Finally back, the wind just kicked our a**'s for the weekend. +/- 15 knots all 3 days. That is tough to boat in when you are riding a flats boat. We caught nothing but trash fish until Sunday morning then finally hit a nice sized school of trout. The water still seems a little cold and the threadfin herring have not started to run yet but it's getting close. All in all a pretty good weekend, it beats the hell out of working.
I did get the trailer fixed finally, I was lucky in that I was able to get off all of the bunk hardware without using a torch or hack saw. Thx god, my hands are sore after turning wrenches all day Sunday afternoon though.
