I just bought my mossberg 500 and have been just shotting trap and skeet. I am able to use my mossberg or my dad 30-30 either depending on if which one I need.Im hoping to get out with some of yall to get hunting fever in my blood.
My buddy showed me this http://myfwc.com/SAFETY/Safety_hunt_safety_Mentor_Exception.htm
and I was wondering if they are still allowing the Mentor Exception. A little about myself since Ive been off here for a while, Im 19 and going to Hcc Brandon.. I live up on bruce b downs and love fishing, truck and mudding. My dad never got me into hunting but its always been something Ive wanted to do. So, just let me know If I still need to take something before meeting up with someone. Btw, Im up for hunting anything I can cook snakes to quails haha *but I really want to get my first hog or dear.

Yea you gotta take that course before they will issue a license to you. And in order to hunt at all in state you need a license. But the course will be EXTREMELY helpful to you if you have never been hunting before and wanna give it a go. And plus you get to shoot guns :gangsta :2guns

Haha now you confused me, "Individuals taking advantage of this try-before-you-buy approach would have to take and pass a hunter safety class to be eligible to purchase a hunting license and hunt the following year." So, as a new hunter wanting to try out hunting does that mean I can go out here with yall until next year and take the safety course?
